Among the city’s many attractions are its magnificent Cathedral and wonderfully preserved cloisters, the massive Norman castle keep, the picturesque timber framed houses and cobbled thoroughfare of Elm Hill, the outdoor market - one of the largest in Europe - and the exciting glass-fronted Forum building on Millenium Plain.

Where is it?

Known as the capital city of East Anglia, Norwich is situated about 110 miles north-east of London and about 25 miles from the Norfolk coast. London and Cambridge are within easy travelling distance and there are fast road and rail links to all the other major cities and places of interest in the UK.

How to reach Norwich

By air to the London airports: Stansted, Heathrow, Gatwick and Luton (or, via Amsterdam, to Norwich International airport). All groups are met on arrival at the airport by English Experience staff and escorted to Norwich in comfortable coaches. Similar arrangements are made for groups arriving at the Channel ports or at the Eurotunnel terminal at London Waterloo station. From other parts of the UK Norwich is easily reached by road, rail and air.

Norwich is situated at the heart of a fascinating area rich in natural beauty and steeped in history. The river Wensum connects the city to the Norfolk Broads National Park, a fascinating and varied area with over 200 miles of reed-fringed navigable waterways, restored windmills, medieval churches and busy market towns and villages.

The county of Norfolk has retained much of its unspoilt character and with its unique wildlife is a naturalists paradise. It has an interesting and varied coastline and there are many beautiful gardens and magnificent houses to visit. Further afield the university city of Cambridge is easily reached and day trips to London can be comfortably undertaken.
