Accommodation: Homestay
Most students attending our Study Holiday courses stay with English host families. Each family is carefully selected and is regularly monitored and inspected by our staff. Many families have been with us for a number of years. Students receive full board accommodation and will have single or shared rooms depending on availability at the time. Sometimes there may be another student (but of a different nationality) staying with the same family.
Students staying in host families can expect a warm welcome and a friendly family environment with plenty of opportunities to practise their English. Most feel that the experience adds considerably to their understanding of the English way of life and to their overall experience in the UK. Frequently, students make firm friendships with their host families and maintain contact with them long after they have returned home.
Accommodation: Residential
Our residential courses take place at Hethersett Old Hall school which is situated in a village just 6 miles from the centre of Norwich. The school is set in 16 acres of beautiful grounds that are ideal for outdoor sporting activities. There is an indoor swimming pool and a sports hall within the school complex as well as outside tennis courts.
Full board accommodation is provided at the school in single or shared bedrooms. There is also a student lounge area available for relaxation. Students have breakfast, hot lunch and dinner in the school canteen unless they are on an excursion when a packed lunch is provided. The school provides laundry facilities. For more information about the facilities at the school and to view a virtual tour please visit www.hohs.co.uk
The English Experience appoints a course coordinator for the duration of the residential visit.
